Kodak finally seems like getting bidders for its patent portfolio and that too is not one but biggies actually in which on one side Apple and Microsoft teamed together and on other side it’s Google, Samsung, LG, HTC and patent aggregator RPX opposing them, reports The Wall Street Journal. Kodak early this month only got an approval from the Bankruptcy Court to conduct an auction to sell its Digital Capture and Kodak Imaging Systems and Services (KISS) patent portfolios. The patent said to be worth $2.6 billion that Kodak is selling, but according to WSJ “people with knowledge of the portfolios,” the initial bids are not going to get that much big figure. The auction set for August 8 and the patents are being planned to sold “in two lots: one portfolio related to capturing and processing images on cameras, smartphones and tablets; and another related to storing and analyzing images, among other things,” says WSJ.
