Iran last week take a decision saying that it will block Gmail but now according to a recent report from AFP, it seems that the decision taken a U-turn. The publication reports that ministers believed that blocking Google’s email service was an “involuntarily” as part of efforts to clamp down on YouTube.

According to Mohammad Reza Miri, a person who is a part of the Internet censorship team says the country lacks the necessary technical ability to knock-out YouTube without affecting Gmail. “Unfortunately, we do not yet have enough technical know-how to differentiate between these two services. We wanted to block YouTube and Gmail was also blocked, which was involuntary.”
