With all eyes on Cupertino-based Apple’s next and most awaited tablet – the iPad 3 which is just round the corner in making its debut, scheduled for March 7th – adding more details in the round-up, the price of the Apple’s upcoming tablet revealed which starts at $579 on Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo, reports Macrumors.

The post suggests a price comparison between the iPad 2 and iPad 3 revealing the price increase in the latest version – interesting to check the headings are labelled from left to right as “Apple iPad Model”, “iPad 2 US Price”, “iPad 3 US Price”, “iPad 3 RMB equivalent price” with the final column calculating on exchange rate reportedly.

The document shown below seems to indicate that the cost may translate into an $80 price bump across the board from iPad 2 to iPad 3, and $70 more for the equivalent 3G models. The iPad 2 prices are in U.S. dollars at the present pricing, which starts at $499 for the 16GB+WiFi model. The iPad 3, meanwhile, is listed at a starting price of $579 for the $16GB+WiFi model and goes as high as $899 for the 64GB+WiFi+3G model.
