Just early today we reported that HP lay off some 275 employees from its webOS division, other “biggies” companies – this time it is IBM sacking hundreds of employees by this week only with a drive which lay off the job of over 1,000 employees working in US with the company. Alliance@IBM/CWA Local 1701, an IBM employee advocacy group, reports that upward of 1,000 workers have been let go this week, with more to follow.

“Those jobs are moving offshore, which seems to be the trend at IBM,” Lee Conrad, Alliance@IBM national director told AllThingsD. “This is a further abandonment of the U.S. workforce. When IBM talks about rebalancing, what they really mean is moving jobs from the States to overseas.”
