Although HTC CEO Peter Chou last week admitted loud and clear that the year 2012 was the worst year for the company, the company today shared the numbers for its fourth quarter 2012, positing its lowest profit since from the year 2004, just NT$1 billion ($35.4 million) net income off NT$60 billion ($2687 billion in income).
Unaudited operating income was NT$0.6 billion, net income before tax was NT$1.1 billion, net income after tax, excluding minority interest, was NT$1.0 billion, and unaudited earnings per share after tax were NT$1.21 based on 831,227 thousand weighted average number of shares. Chou last week only stated in his plan for the 2013 that the company will spend more on marketing saying that “the worst for HTC has probably passed.”
