Business Insider reports that the search giant reportedly working on a native Android app, something which is similar to that of iPhone app, Game Center. Google app will include a social “achievement” system giving people awards and trophies for doing certain things in games. The publication cited “sources” further states that it will include a leaderboard which will rank players against their friends.
“They are starting to really understand all of the needs and wants to make a game really successful,” an industry source close to developers told the publication. “As recently as even a year ago, that really wasn’t part of their institutional DNA, But I think they’re getting there.”
