We earlier reported that the social giant had spend $650,000 on lobbying in Q1 2012 which is up 182.61 percent from the $230,000 Facebook spend in Q1 2011 and up 32.31 percent from the $440,000 it spent in Q4 2012. The company last year spend a record $1.35 million across all four quarters. Adding to this further another giant but this time the search giant Google had spent $5.03 million on federal lobbying in the first quarter of 2012, according to a regulatory document filed Friday. The $5 million is a new record for Google so far, up from $3.76 million spent on lobbying in the fourth quarter of 2011.
