Google today announced that it is introducing two new ways for apps to build better with richer integration with Drive, offering app data folders and custom properties. It happens most of the time that when you found yourself in the situation users may accidentally move or delete the very file or folder your app needs to function.

In order to make it work for you, Google brings in the app data folder, the app folder is a special folder in Drive which can be only be accessed by your app while the app folder’s content is hidden from the users and from other apps, making it a perfect place for storing configuration files, app state data, or any other files that the user should not modify.
