The API will help developers by allowing them to easily embedding YouTube video content to native apps. The new API will also support ads and monetization, and over the top helping developers with premium video contents to have revenue source. In one and all, what Android Central points out that this new API will be “un-supported on older versions of Android” i.e. will work only best on Android versions from 2.2 and onwards.
