Gmail SMS In Africa Lets Users Send And Receive Emails As Text Messages

In order to make life a bit better for people in Africa, Google’s Gmail team putting efforts to make sure messages are delivered as soon as you hit “send,” but sometimes it would not be same and you have to go through barriers that comes in between you and your email. To help people in the continent better, Google has created Gmail SMS. The service will be available in Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya, allowing the users to send and receive emails as SMS messages using your mobile phone, with an interesting point to note is that whether or not your phone has an internet connection, like that of Wifi or 3G. The best factor is that Gmail SMS works on every phone, even the most basis ones also.  Further, receiving Gmail SMS is free of charge.  Standard SMS rates apply when replying to messages, creating new messages and sending Gmail SMS commands from your phone.
