Facebook announced today that starting from Monday, the company will be implementing a new review process for determining which Pages and Groups should features ads alongside their content. The move will let expand the scope of both Pages and Groups which should be ad-restricted.

Moreover, the company will remove ads from all Pages and Group which don’t fall into this new restricted list. The company also added that the review process will be manual at first but will turned out to be a scalable, automated way in the coming weeks in order to prevent such inappropriate content.

The change appears to be like this, the company explain in its post today: For example, we will now seek to restrict ads from appearing next to Pages and Groups that contain any violent, graphic or sexual content (content that does not violate our community standards). Prior to this change, a Page selling adult products was eligible to have ads appear on its right-hand side; now there will not be ads displayed next to this type of content.
