Facebook Pulls ‘Find Friends Nearby,’ Company Says It ‘Wasn’t A Formal Release’

Facebook yesterday quietly launched a new feature name as “find friends nearby” which was later claimed by Charles Sankowich, CEO of Friendthem claimed that the social giant steal their idea and “trademark material.” Now, an interesting piece of thing coming from ABC that the social giant had pulled the app back, saying it was not a formal release. The company said in a statement:

“This wasn’t a formal release – this was something that a few engineers were testing. With all tests, some get released as full products, others don’t. Nothing more to say on this for now – we’ll communicate to everyone when there is something to say.”

Now, if you try to visit the original Find Friends Nearby page, you get redirected to: https://m.facebook.com/friendshake, will gives an error page in front of you. This story is taking huge rounds as of now, as the yesterday first Facebook released the feature without any official announcement, then Firendthem CEO claimed that it belongs to us and Facebook steal the idea and now the social giant removed it.
