Facebook Obtained Permission To Build Second Campus Near Its HQ

According to a report on Mercury News (via The Next Web), the social giant Facebook has obtained permission to build a second campus west at Bayfront Expressway, Menlo Park, just opposite its headquarters on the other side of the road. The new campus will be of 433,555-square foot building and will be designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry.

“Congratulations,” Mayor Peter Ohtaki told Facebook officials Tuesday night when the city council, voted 4-0 to allow the social network company to proceed with its plans. “Where’s the ‘Like’ button?” This is certainly good news for the company which is building big every day.

It is believed that the new campus will be going to built above a surface-level parking lot with the complex will rise to 73 feet in some spots while most of it will be about 45 feet height. The council give authorization to the company and allowed that the building could exceed 35 feet and can cover 55 percent of the property instead of a regular maximum 50 percent allowed.
