Facebook through its Security App revealed that it has expanded its Antivirus Marketplace with the addition of seven new partners, including Avast, AVG, Avira, Kaspersky, Panda, Total Defense, and Webroot, allowing users to download antivirus software from all these seven security companies.

“Effective security must be a cooperative effort,” the company said in a blog post. “By adding these new partners to the Facebook Security family we are sure we can keep our community even better protected from threats both on Facebook and elsewhere on the web.”

The social giant launched the AV Marketplace originally with five partner companies, name Microsoft, McAfee, Sophos, Symantec, and Trend Micro and the whole of the Marketplace within the span of six months, has attracted over 30 million users. With now adding new partners, Facebook make its automated security systems even more robust, adding to the database behind Facebook’s URL blacklist system.
