We have noticed in the recent past that Android somewhere counted as top mobile operating system platform and somewhere Android accounted for 58% of smartphone app downloads for the year, but today another interesting data from F-Secure revealed that Android also accounted for 79% of all mobile malware in 2012 with 96% in fourth quarter itself.

According to a report, Android accounted for total 79% of all malware in 2012, up from 66.7% in 2011 while on the other side Apple’s iOS accounted for mere 0.7% malware on its platform. Symbian on other end is down 19% of all malware, when compared to 62.5% two years ago while Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and J2ME each accounted for less than 1% of threat in the year.
