The big numbers are just out from China’s telecom operators: Marbridge Consulting is reporting that China’s three main telecom operators have announced their October 2012 total subscribers. There was the net addition of 11.25 million new mobile subscribers in the month of October.
Breaking up, China Mobile added 4.96 million new mobile subscribers, bringing the total subscriber base to 703.47 million of which the total of 79.31 million subscribers on China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA terminals during the month.
China Unicom added 3.39 million new subscribers during the month, making the total to 232.88 million. From the new total of which, approximately 190,000 were GSM subscribers, which means the total GSM user base now 162.81 million, 3.20 million users were WCDMA 3G subscribers.
China Telecom added 2.90 million CDMA subscribers, bringing the total to 155.52 million, of which 62.74 million were CDMA2000 EV-DO subscribers. The company added 3.02 million new CDMA2000 EV-DO subscribers in the month.
