According to the latest “Statistical Report on Internet Development in China” released by the China Internet Network Information Center on Thursday, the country’s internet population hits 538 million, which is up from previous year’s 485 million. Along with this, the total number of mobile internet users reached 388 million, up from previous registered 318 million a year ago. Broadband internet users still seeing declined as the total number of broadband users was only 380 million.
Talking about domain names in China are 8.73 million, among which 3.98 million are of .cn URLs. China’s IPv6 addresses ranked third in the world. The mobile phone shoppers reached 37.37 million, up 59.7 percent over just six months from 23.47 million in end-2011. Online video watchers also grew 25 million in the past six months and reached 350 million by June end.
