We have seen Apple bringing its new mobile operating system iOS 6, Microsoft launched Windows Phone 8 and now mostly a surprise for almost everyone, China’s Huawei working on its own mobile operating system as a backup plan, reports Reuters. The reason to work on its own piece of operating system as the company doesn’t want to take any chance if any other company not help it out.
“Whatever consumers like, we’ll develop,” Wan Biao, CEO of Huawei Device, said in an interview on Monday at the company’s headquarters. “We’re also devoting resources into coming up with a phone operating system based on our current platform in case other companies won’t let us use their system one day.”
“We’re still investing actively for the next 1-2 years, so it will be a big challenge to achieve high profitability,” Wan said.
