China Unicom And Apple In Talks To Extend Their Three-Year Partnership

Although China Unicom all geared up to start carrying Nokia Windows Phone, the carrier president Lu Yimin revealed that the company is Apple’s largest partner by units shipped on the Chinese mainland. Both the companies are satisfied with the way their last three years partnership, which was signed back in June 2009, worked out in the beneficial for both and now they are discussing in extending this partnership with the company.

China Unicom’s 3G subscribers totaled 51.8 million at the end of April, trailing China Mobile 61.9 million, according to data the companies released this month. Unicom’s total mobile customer base of 212.8 million was less than half the 672.5 million at China Mobile.
