Box Spread Its Wings, Goes International, Partners With Podio In Europe

Box, an online File Sharing and Cloud Content Management service, has announced a deal with Podio, a social business collaboration platform, to offer storage services to Podio customers expanding its reach across the borders and moving into Europe. Box which seen a strong growth in 2011, now having around 8 million users and 100,000 businesses with a plans to offer the service to the feds.

Box has started its service back in 2005 but this is only recently that the company is taking off its wing – the company expanded to the U.S. last year and plans to give an update on growth in March. Those customers today officially number at 40,000 but unofficially are “quite a lot higher,” spokesperson told TechCrunch.

Box which already integrates with some 150 platform partners includes Salesforce.com, Google, Jive and Yammer has Podio as its first European partner. For Podio, the deal gives a new feature – cloud storage from a well-known branded company – along with a social network for businesses it is enhancing to create apps.
