Apple Unveils iOS 6.1 Maps Search API

Apple has unveiled a new Search API allowing developers to query its Map servers to get back point-of-interest and location data, which results in integrating the local results into their apps at the time when users search for things nearby them. The new API will let developer to use Apple’s MapKit so as to call up mapping tiles and Google Places in order to fill out location data.
