Apple long-heated iPad trademark battle in China sounds like seeing some final $60 million ending for the Cupertino-based giant. The Associated Press reports that Apple has agreed to pay Proview $60 million to settle a dispute over the iPad trademark. Earlier, Apple offered 100 million yuan ($16 million), while Proview demanded 400 million yuan ($63 million) and with the today news it’s confirmed that iPad trademark bagged $60 million.
“The iPad dispute resolution is ended,” the Guangdong High People’s Court said in a statement. “Apple Inc. has transferred $60 million to the account of the Guangdong High Court as requested in the mediation letter.” Proview lawyer Xie Xianghui said, “This is a result that is acceptable to both sides.”
