Broadening its game center better, AOL today launched a developer center for its website property Games.com, a platform for browser-based video games owned by AOL. The purpose to set up the developer center is that it will give creators greater and much better control over on how their work is monetized and promoted.

It is interesting to see that AOL opted for a cross-platform service built entirely on HTML5, instead of opting for either an app marketplace or mobile apps. Further to enhance and give an understanding, the company said at the time of relaunch to it as “mobile-first mentality” offering end users goodies including full-screen gameplay, badges, points as well as leaderboards.
