Acer Sues Former CEO Gianfranco Lanci Over Non-Compete Breach

According to Financial Times, the Taiwanese company, Acer and its former CEO Gianfranco Lanci may have gone far away from each other – but it is not financially atleast. The company reportedly has initiated legal action against Lanci alleging that he had violated company’s non-compete clauses in the contract he signed with Acer at the time he leave the company in February 2011.

Acer filed the suit in Lanci’s native Italy, alleging that he “has clearly breached the terms” of the 12-month non-compete. No word yet on home much the company is seeking with the claim. Lanci who had been with Acer since 1997 helped the company by spreading its footsteps globally. The company is seeking an unspecified damage against Mr. Lanci.
