Ad Age is reporting that YouTube, Google’s video giant website is preparing itself for the second round of funding for its professional channels that the company introduced back in December 2011 in order to add original content. But, in all this time, it is expected that the funding is meant only for few partners, some 30 to 40 percent of its total 100 plus channel partners.

“Our biggest objective was to kick-start the ecosystem, to bring in great creators, to deepen our relationships with advertisers and to grow viewership,” Jamie Byrne, global head of content, told Ad Age. “We looked at viewership they’ve been able to achieve, the cost of the content, and from that we are able to determine the channels that are delivering the best return on our investment.”
