Yahoo in an urge to get back what it owes itself is planning to take legal action against Facebook over unresolved patent claims. The digital media company is preparing to take “formal action,” somewhere in the form of lawsuit surely against Facebook, Business Insider reports. The claim the company is going to make is that Facebook is using Yahoo discoveries in online advertising and social networking without paying for the privilege. A source defined by the publication on Yahoo’ efforts suggest that company might go for Facebook’s revenue percentage. Facebook itself did not comment on the developments, though Yahoo stated that “We must insist that Facebook either enter into a licensing agreement or we will be compelled to move forward unilaterally to protect our rights.”
