Yahoo yesterday announced that it would be laying off 2,000 employees as a part of restructuring effort with AllThingsD reported that company’s Chief Product Officer Blake Irving has resigned. On next Tuesday will see company’s CEO Scott Thompson outline his long-term strategy and vision for the struggling Internet Company. The reorganization meeting on Tuesday is likely to focus around the three main businesses that Thompson cited in a memo to staffers on Wednesday: “core media and communications,” “platforms” and “data.”
