Yahoo announced today that it is officially supporting the Marco Civil da Internet bill in Brazil. The bill which being dubbed as the “Constitution of the Internet” and was originally conceptualised by professor Ronaldo Lemos is expected to be voted through the Brazilian Congress in the coming months time.
The bill, if comes into picture will brings privacy rights online as well as net neutrality and will make access to the Internet, a compulsory civil right in the country. Yahoo, which being in the country since 1999, strongly urges and see bill as a progressive step for the country, and consider it as the one which do reinforce its future in innovation.
