WSJ: Wal-Mart, Target And Other Retailers ‘Secretly’ Working On Mobile Payments System

In order to compete “biggies” of the field, it is often seen that group of companies bunched together themselves and start working towards the rival – this is what happening in the case of chasing Google and big cellphone companies’ mobile-payments system product.

WSJ is reporting that Wal-Mart and Target are among the two dozen retailers working together to develop a mobile-payments system in order to compete with similar products from Google and big cellphone companies. The push represents an effort by merchant companies to make a big sigh and get the upper hand in the fast-developing market that turns cellphones into payment devices.
