WSJ: Asus Reportedly Plans To Sell Smaller Windows 8 Tablets This Year

Taiwan’s Asus is reportedly planning to sell smaller, lower priced Windows 8 tablet this year, according to a report on The Wall Street Journal. The move believe to be taken by the company as its plans to give a boost to Microsoft’s efforts to reduce both the size and price of mobile devices running its operating system.

Asus on Monday only reported its first quarter earnings which being rose 21% from a year earlier, as company saw a huge increase in tablet shipments. The company reported the net profit rose to NT$6.05 billion (about $202 million) for the quarter, ended March from NT$5.01 billion a year earlier, which being an above the average NT$5.48 billion estimated.
