Brandon Watson, known to many Windows Phone developers as WP Developer Experience head is reportedly leaving Microsoft for Amazon – he is the latest executive to leave the Microsoft’s phone unit.

ZDNet states, “It’s not just any job at Amazon, either. Watson is going to be the Director of the Kindle Cross Platform team. There he will be working on the product development roadmap for Kindle apps across all first- and third-party platforms worldwide, including the Windows Phone app and the Windows 8 app.”

Watson tweeted, “The rumors are true. The team is in great hands. I’ll miss working on wpdev. I will the community, but won’t be a stranger.”

Microsoft confirmed that Watson’s last day is Monday. “Brandon did a great job helping us build a vibrant developer community and we wish him well with his next adventure,” a representative said in a statement. The company did not “immediately” say who would pick up Watson’s duties.
