Dasient, a Sunnyvale-based internet security firm, on Monday through its company blog announced that it had been acquired by micro-blogging website, Twitter. The purchase deal price was not disclosed in the company’s post.
The company was founded in 2008, is the brainchild of Neil Daswani and Shariq Rivzi. “Effective immediately, we will be bringing our technology, tools, and team to the revenue engineering team at Twitter,” Dasient wrote on its company blog.
Dasient – known for its anti-malware platform, which can scan web addresses to assess the presence of harmful content. A few days ago, Twitter bought Summify, Vancouver based news aggregator, a service that culls through your social media profile to deliver a daily digest of the most relevant stories to your inbox or an iPhone app.
