Last year, US tech companies’ advertisers continued to increase their ad and promo spending so much that the companies like Google, Amazon and Apple are listed among the six companies with the highest ad-spending growth rates in 2011. Accounting for each of these companies, 96% of Google’s $38 billion worldwide revenue in 2011 came from selling ads while Amazon accounts for $1.4 billion, eBay $977 million and Expedia $796 million in their worldwide ad spend in 2011.
