If you’re curious about what different activities are now being played competitively, then here are a few examples of sports and competitions that you didn’t even know existed.

Cloud Chasing

The popularity of vaping has grown exponentially over the last few years, and as a result, a new sport has been born. ‘Cloud chasing’ is a competition where contestants try to create the largest and densest clouds of vapor, using their electronic cigarettes. Pinball

Everyone has heard of big league sports competitions like football, baseball, and basketball, but now there is pinball. Pinball was once a long-forgotten game, rarely seen and barely ever mentioned, and it seemed as though it was destined to fade into the background as a well respected retro game. But that fate is no more, as pinball has made an unexpected come back! There are real leagues popping up all over the place, with professional score sheets, reigning champions and a lot of hard work and skill going into becoming a great pinball player. If you are looking for a non-physical sport, and think you would enjoy going a little more old-school, then competitive pinball might just be the activity for you.

Zorbing

Many people have heard of zorbing, as it has become a fun activity for the whole family. For those who don’t know, zorbing is the recreational activityof rolling downhill in a clear plastic orb; while many people take to the slow slopes in order to enjoy this unique experience, extreme zorbing has now become more and more popular. With steeper slopes and faster falls comes great risk, and that only seems to appeal to the masses of adrenaline junkies out there. There is also now ‘ocean zorbing’ which includes taking this sport to the water, which is a lot harder work and more dangerous than it sounds, as the balls don’t move efficiently on water. In order to be buoyant and waterproof, these balls also have to be completely sealed off, meaning there is a limited amount of air available.

These are just a few of the new and wacky sports and competitions which are popping up all over the country, and as people’s imaginations continue to grow, who knows what might appear next.
