SOPA/PIPA Protest: 122 Opponents Now As Against 63 Supporters As Per ProPublica

Yesterday, we saw 25 US Senators publicly stands out against the Protect IP Act (PIPA), now just 63 supports anti-piracy bills, and opposition has surged to 122, as per ProPublica.

ProPublica is an independent non-profit news room define supports and opponents’ according to “whether a member is a sponsor of the proposed bills, and each member’s voting record on the current bills’ precursors and alternatives.”  The news room is keeping a real-time count on Congressional support and opposition.

On January 18th the whole internet protested against SOPA and PIPA, several websites across the internet participated in a national protest against the bill including Wikipedia, Reddit, I Can Has Cheeze Burger, Google and many others.

The voting is scheduled for January 24 – all eyes over on it.
