Reuters is reporting that Sharp agreed to pay $198.5 million to Dell and two other companies that had filed a lawsuit against its TFT business in North America and Europe. There is no mention of companies name except the Dell which had filed the lawsuit against Sharp. Sharp back in April had announced a 376 billion-yen loss (about $4.7 billion) for fiscal 2011 citing low sales in its primary businesses, reductions in asset valuation, restructuring expenses, and deferred income tax charges. The company now eyeing it plans to realize the loss in fiscal 2013 fourth quarter. We will keep an eye on this and will update accordingly.
