Samsung’s New CEO JK Shin: There Is ‘Lackluster Demand’ For Windows Tablets And Phones

With the big announcement of Galaxy S IV already rolled out and the company appointed two new co-CEOs, the Samsung Mobile Communications President JK Shin says some good words that at least Microsoft not want to hear at first. Shin says that there is “lackluster demand” for Windows tablets and phones to an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

What about your relationship with Microsoft? Has it changed after Nokia began to work more closely with Microsoft on Windows devices?

Smartphones and tablets based on Microsoft’s Windows operating system aren’t selling very well. There is a preference in the market for Android. In Europe, we’re also seeing lackluster demand for Windows-based products.
