Samsung Will Make Big This Year With Widen Its Sales Gap With Apple

According to the latest data from Strategic Analytics (via Reuters), the South-Korean giant makes wave again with its smartphone sales tipped to grow 35% in 2013, increasing its lead over Apple. Thanks to the company’s extensive range of device, which results in making the company to sell 290 million smartphones, an increase on the 215 million units the Samsung sold in 2012.

“We expect Samsung to slightly extend its lead over Apple this year because of its larger multitier product portfolio,” Neil Mawston, executive director at Strategy Analytics, said in an e-mail interview with Reuters.

The firm believes that the worldwide smartphone sales will increase 27 percent in order to reach at 875 million units in 2013, resulting in giving Samsung a 33 percent market share, an up of 2 percent on what Samsung holds back in 2012 while the Strategic Analytic believes that Apple’s share will rise by 1 percent to make a count of 21 percent in 2013.
