Samsung Acquires US-based Storage Software Firm NVELO In An Undisclosed Deal

Samsung in an undisclosed deal announced that it has acquired privately held NVELO, a Calif.-based storage software firm. NVELO, a two year old company develops data caching software, the technology which increases the speed at which devices, like computers or phones, retrieve data and information from hard disk drives and solid state devices (SSD).

“The acquisition of NVELO will enable us to extend our ability to provide SSD related storage solutions to customers. We are pleased with this transaction as the employees of NVELO share our vision to take SSD storage into the next-generation of performance and reliability,” said Young-Hyun Jun, executive vice president of Flash product & technology, Device Solutions, Samsung Electronics.
