The fifth-generation 9.7-inch iPad will be hitting factories this summer in the month of July-August 2013, according to Digitimes citing sources with Taiwan-based supply chain makers. The same source also pointed out that the new instalment of iPad will be thinner and lighter than the fourth-generation iPad and will also adopt a slim bezel design, which will be very much same to that of the iPad mini.

Further, the publication says that the new iPad is expected to be supplied by LG Display and Sharp, while its touch panel assembly will be taken care by TPK and the ITO thin film, which will be supplied by Nitto Denko and Teijin, the same source added. This is not the first time Apple’s any (or better says possibly) product rumors takes the wind off in the market much ahead of time.
