Red Hat Reports Q3 Earnings: Revenues Were $343.6 Million, EPS $0.18

The open source solutions maestro Red Hat reported its third quarter financial results for its fiscal year 2013 ended November 30, 2012. The company reported the total revenue for the quarter was $343.6 million, an increase of 18% in U.S. dollars from the year ago quarter, or 21% measured in constant currency. Subscription revenue for the quarter was $294.2 million, up 19% in U.S. dollars year-over-year, or 22% measured in constant currency.

The company further reported the GAAP operating income of $49.9 million, down 7% year-over-year while GAAP operating margin was 14.5%. The non-GAAP operating income was $82.5 million, up 5% year-over-year. Non-GAAP operating margin was 24.0%. Net income for the quarter was $34.8 million, or $0.18 per diluted share, compared with $38.2 million, or $0.19 per diluted share, in the year ago quarter.
