As expected but with better price and not by Dell, Quest Software has agreed to be acquired by two private equity funds, Insight Venture Partners and Vector Capital. The company has announced that it entered into an amendment with both the equity fund partners and now comes at a value of $25.75 per share in cash instead of $23 per share price that was earlier on offer chart for Quest Software. Quest’s board approved an offer of $25.75 a share or nearly $2.2 billion, which was higher than the offered $25.50 a share received from a “strategic bidder” thought to be Dell.
