PayPal has announced an increased rate of mobile adoption numbers with its mobile payment first batch numbers from Cyber Monday with a 196% increase from the previous years’ numbers. The company even last week reported a 173% increase in global mobile payment volume from 2011, thanks to the Thanksgiving.

PayPal’s Claudia Lombana says on this:

Cyber Monday was born on November 28, 2005 in a Shop.org press release about people flocking back to work to shop via their fast internet connections at work, instead of having to rely on their slow ones at home. I don’t know about you but the speed disparity between my work and home broadband connection has disappeared now – if anything my home Internet speed may be faster!

But old habits die hard and shoppers still look to Cyber Monday as a big online shopping day during the holiday season. This year marks a huge shift in online shopping behaviors as more and more shoppers are using their mobile devices to make those purchases.
