We earlier reported that SAP AG plans to buy Ariba in a deal which will value the company at $4.3 billion, in its latest act to give Oracle an edge. Seems now Oracle cross fire on SAP, the company announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Virtue. Financial terms are not being disclosed but a report on Techcrunch has pegged the price at $300 million.
Virtue is a leading cloud-based social marketing and engagement platform that enables marketers to centrally create, publish, moderate, manage, measure and report on their social marketing campaigns and activities on social media platforms.
The combination is expected to help organizations develop more meaningful customer engagements with consistent brand experiences, improve their return on investment across all channels and media, and enhance customer service through real-time responsiveness and high touch relationships.
