Olympus Announce Two New Point-And-Shoot Cameras: TG-820 iHS And SZ-31MR iHS

With the announcement of Olympus much awaited and most impressive next generation “OM-D” camera, the company also revealed [1][2] two new fixed lens model – the durable TOUGH TG-820 iHS and the long zoom SZ-31MR iHS.

The Olympus digital camera TOUGH TG-820 iHS that sets a new benchmark for Waterproof, Shockproof, Freezeproof, Crushproof and Dustproof performance. Combining proven durability with superb image quality courtesy of the new iHS (Intelligent, High-Sensitivity and High-Speed) family of technologies, the Olympus Tough TG-820 iHS has both brains and brawn. iHS harnesses the power of a new 12-megapixel BSI (Back-Side Illuminated) CMOS sensor and the TruePic VI image processor to dramatically improve low-light performance, speed up camera response time, enhance scene and subject recognition and double zoom magnification without losing image quality. Olympus this new rugged shooter will hit shelves next month for $299.

Alongside with this, the company also announced the Olympus SZ-31MR iHS camera – like its predecessor, the SZ-31MR iHS incorporates revolutionary Multi-Recording functionality that simultaneously captures 1080p HD Video and 16-Megapixel still images without missing a frame. But the innovative Olympus SZ-31MR iHS goes further by combining an outstanding 24x Wide-Angle Optical Zoom Lens (25-600 mm zoom equivalent in 35-mm format) with a new touch panel LCD and powerful new iHS (Intelligent, High-Sensitivity and High-Speed) technologies that capture excellent images and videos in the most challenging backlit and low light conditions. All this can be yours for a mere $399 this April when it’s released.
