Nokia: 41MP 808 PureView Will Be The Last Symbian Smartphone

The question before writing up this post is that how many of you are using the 808 PureView? Now the purpose to ask, the Finnish mobile maker today stated that the 41-megapixel smartphone, the 808 PureView will be the last device that will be running on Nokia’s Symbian platform – this means this is it for Symbian.

Nokia states (Spotted by TechCrunch): “During our transition to Windows Phone through 2012, we continued to ship devices based on Symbian. The Nokia 808 PureView, a device which showcases our imaging capabilities and which came to market in mid 2012, was the last Symbian device from Nokia.”

The company earlier today announced its financial results for the fourth quarter 2012, reporting 439 million euros (about $584 million) with net sales of 8.041 billion euros while over on total sales of Symbian smartphones the company made was just 2.2 million as compared to 9.3 million touch Asha devices.
