This is what we called as “unexpected” – a Gmail focused mobile operating system Android has proven to be “good” for Microsoft’s Hotmail which accounts for a 5 million download on Hotmail app for Android in less than 5 months period – Interesting but strange at some extend.
The reason why I think it would be called as strange – we know that Hotmail remains the world’s largest webmail provider – no doubt – but as per assumption, the average user on the service was not likely to be a smartphone user and that too of Android of course and on the urge seeing the 5 million number – which is still a very large figure – seems Hotmail still working towards making the mark in the market.
The official Hotmail app for Android has reached another milestone this past weekend – over 5 million downloads in less than 5 months.
