Microsoft Office 15 Enters Technical Preview Stage, Rumor It Will Be Desktop Apps Type

Microsoft’s next generation Office suite, codename “Office 15entered the Technical Preview Program stage yesterday. Office 15 is the codename for the next Office products and services. The company is sharing its work with a small number of third-party customers under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). These customers play a key role in the development process by testing early builds and providing feedback, which the company incorporate into the final release.

Microsoft’s CVP of development, PJ Hough said, “I’m not able to share too much about Office 15, but I can tell you Office 15 is the most ambitious undertaking yet for the Office Division.” The software giant isn’t making the information share with much yet, but the public beta version will be out by this summer. There is still no words on what features the new office suite will come with. Microsoft is planning to update all of its cloud services, servers, mobile, and PC clients for Office 15, and the company will share more information during the public beta phase.

In addition to this, there are rumor that Office 15 for Windows 8 will be desktop apps, not fully Metro style. Whatever the future hold for this new Microsoft’s Office version – we will get to know soon on this.
