LG today announced that it has reached a new milestone mark with global sales of five million LTE smartphones to date, means one LTE smartphone roughly every two and a half seconds. The company sold out four million LTE smartphones till last month, with an additional one million mobile units were sold in the month of July only. The company is currently offering more than ten LG LTE smartphones in countries where LTE service is available, including Korea, US, Japan, and select markets in Europe and Asia. Talking about Optimus Vu, which has sold over 500,000 units since March and with the release of the industry’s first 2GB RAM LTE smartphone Optimus LTE II in May with the device reaching half a million units in the first 70 days.
