KPCB Partner Mary Meeker Reveals Internet Trends For 2012, Says There Were Nearly 2.3 Billion Internet Users Worldwide

Speaking at the AllThingsD D10 Conference today, Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers (KPCB) partner Mary Meeker revealed that her company’s latest report on Internet trends for 2012 suggesting that there were nearly 2.3 billion Internet users worldwide, representing 8 percent growth year-over-year.

China is on the top having 513 million Web users, while US having 245 million users. The global Internet penetration currently stands at just 32 percent. Talking about mobile, she said there are now 1.1 billion mobile subscribers worldwide, representing 37 percent growth year over year while global penetration is only 18 percent.
